Ride Don't Hide 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

On June 24, 2018, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) will host its 7th Annual ďRide Donít HideĒ event, the largest mental health bike ride in Canada. Thousands of Canadians from Newfoundland and Labrador to British Columbia arenít hiding. They are cycling in plain sight to put an end to the stigma of mental illness. They are also riding to raise funds for mental health programs and services in their communities.

By joining Ride Donít Hide in Caledon as a cyclist or donor you are supporting vital programs that help youth and adults living with mental illnesses. Your support improves public awareness, helps to reduce stigma and ensures that people get they care and treatment they need, when they need it.

There are a number of ride lengths, ranging from 5 kilometres to 100 kilometres. There is also a 5 kilometre walking option along the Trans Canada Trail System.

Location: Lloyd Wilson Centennial Arena (15551 McLaughlin Road, Inglewood, ON L7C 1J5)

Ancestor's Trail Hike 7:45 am - 2:00 pm

This hike through evolutionary time starts at Erindale Park with the dawn of multicellular life and heads up the Culham Trail in Mississauga to the current time of prolific humanity in the park at the end of Pine Cliff Drive, mostly hiking along the Credit River.

The entire hike at a gingerly pace of approximately 3-4 km per hour will take about 3-4 hours. It may take longer with stops along the way to learn about the various key evolutionary splits and events like the five major extinctions and our common ancestry with existing species. There will be rest & refreshments stops and check-points where participants can get their passports stamped while discussing specific issues on evolution and species in distress.

Location: Erindale Park (1695 Dundas St W, Mississauga)
